J-5000 Environmental Tank Overview
ZIRCO is proud to distribute JATCO J-5000 Environmental Tanks as the official representative for Canada. The J-5000 is a 10-gallon environmental tank designed to prevent soil and groundwater pollution generated by oil and gas production, transportation, and refining operations.
The JATCO Tank is placed below waste-producing equipment where liquids collect by gravity flow instead of being allowed to spill and contaminate soil and water. When the tank is full, a float operates a three-way valve, allowing gas pressure to force the liquids out to proper recycling or disposal facilities. When empty, the float moves the valve to the closed position and gas pressure is vented, allowing the tank to fill again by gravity.
Built with very few moving parts and using normally available gas pressure as the motive force, the JATCO Environmental Tank delivers reliable, low-maintenance performance for demanding applications throughout Western Canada's oil & gas sector.

What Is an Environmental Tank?
An environmental tank (also known as a condensate tank or waste fluid collection tank) is designed to capture and contain liquid wastes from industrial processes before they can contaminate soil and groundwater. The JATCO J-5000 is placed below waste-producing equipment where liquids collect by gravity flow.
When the tank reaches capacity, a float mechanism activates a three-way valve that allows gas pressure to force the collected liquids out through a discharge pipe to stock tanks for proper recycling or disposal. Once emptied, the float returns to its resting position, closing the valve and venting the gas pressure, allowing the cycle to begin again.
